Side Action

The Smart Money Goes With...
Navy (-6.5) vs Temple Temple has quietly won five straight and are one win away from bowl eligibility. The Midshipmen will crush the dream and put the game away before halftime.

Louisville (-3) vs Arkansas State  Louisville is bad, but not so bad that they can't cover a field goal against a team with a losing record in Sun Belt Conference.

Texans (-3) at Bills One of these teams will have its two-game winning streak snapped. It won't be Houston.

Giants (pick) at Eagles Both teams have been beating up on the league's bottom feeders and are not as good as their records indicate. But the Eagles really do suck--they haven't beaten a team above .500, and won't this week. -- Mike Singh

The Weekender

Here Comes the Show. Are you Ready For It?
SATURDAY
World Series, Game Three, at Philadelphia, 7:57 PM, FOX Andy Pettitte vs. Cole Hamels. Crank up the volume for this game in Philly, with the Series tied 1-1.

College Football! Georgia at (1) Florida 3:30 PM, CBS These teams just don't like each other, and you know in the SEC, they don't know quit.

(22) South Carolina at Tennessee, 7:30 PM, ESPN
The Gamecocks are battling for BCS respect, and have only beaten the Vols in their backyard once in 14 tries. We just want to hear CockyTop sneak onto the PA system.

(3) Texas at (14) Oklahoma State, 8:00 PM, ABC or ESPN2 With pressure to move past Bama in the rankings, Texas will show no mercy against OK State. This is a game where Colt McCoy could remind us why he won the Stiff Arm, or why Texas won't play for the title.

(5) USC at (10) Oregon, 8:00 PM, ABC or ESPN2 The Trojans have to bring their A game on D--they've given up 63 points in their last two games. The Ducks have averaged over 38 points per game since their loss to Boise. This is a bloodbath. Yes!

SUNDAY
Even the horrific vision of the girl in your bed Sunday morning after she takes off her Lady Gaga wig won't come close to the terror in Yankee fans' hearts as they prepare to watch their "sluggers" face Cliff Lee again

Giants at Eagles, 1:00 PM, FOX If the Giants lose, expect them to try to sign LeBron as TE.

Denver at Baltimore, 1:00 PM, CBS
After falling from 3-0 to 3-3, the Ravens can reclaim some of the early season hype if they give the Broncos their first loss. It won't come easy, but still...

Minnesota at Green Bay, 4:15 PM, FOX Favre. At Lambeau. In purple. Is there anything more to say beyond "Happy Halloween?"

World Series, Game Four, at Philadelphia, 8:20 PM, FOX Cliff Lee v. CC Sabathia, again. Epic. -- Ilana Stone
